Quinoa

There have been ongoing research on quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) for many years. The results of the research have not yet been reviewed and are rarely adobted by local farmers. There is an urgent need to prioritize activities in order to achieve long-term sustainability of quinoa farming systems. Emphasis should be put on increasing national consumption of quinoa, which is far smaller than it should or could be.

Market

There is an actual demand from the export market, but a lack of production of high quality seeds and added value products.
